BAPN is a membership association serving the needs of nannies (home childcarers). We also offer Corporate Membership to businesses such as nanny agencies, training organisations and providers of childcare / early years resources. We appreciate that some nannies do also run nanny agencies and / or associated companies and, in such cases, unless Corporate Membership is also purchased, BAPN membership covers their working time as a nanny ONLY.
Conflict of Interest: should a nanny own, work for or in some other way be associated with a company offering services and products in direct competition with BAPN they will not be eligible for BAPN membership on grounds of a potential conflict of interest. Should this clause apply to a nanny once in membership we would respectfully request that they inform BAPN and resign from membership. If it comes to BAPN’s attention that this clause applies to a nanny in membership, BAPN will write to nanny seeking clarification and if a conflict of interest is apparent, BAPN will withdraw BAPN membership with immediate effect. This clause is non-negotiable as it protects the integrity of BAPN business.
Membership is valid for 12 months from date of joining/payment. We will send you a reminder when your membership is due for renewal.
Change in Personal Details
Please inform BAPN of any change in your personal details, e.g. name or address.
BAPN will aim to respond to membership requests and renewal of membership within 24 hours from date of contact. As these responses are automated, please contact us should a delay occur firstname.lastname@example.org
How to cancel your BAPN Membership/ Returns Policy
If you decide to cancel your membership within 14 days of receiving your membership confirmation, we will refund the price you paid for membership in full, provided that you inform us in writing, requesting cancellation.
However, should you have taken advantage of our employment advice, support and / or representation, joined via a promotion or accessed any other of our member benefits, you will not be eligible for a refund. Where a member has breached any rule(s) of membership, membership will be terminated with no refund due.
If BAPN cancels your BAPN Membership
We reserve the right to cancel your membership, if you do not adhere to BAPN’s Code of Conduct or should any of your actions bring BAPN into disrepute. No refund of subscription will be paid in these circumstances. Directors decision is final in all cases.
Members Only Access
Access to certain areas of BAPN’S website is restricted. We reserve the right to restrict access to other areas of our website, or indeed our whole website, at our discretion.
If we provide you with a user ID and password to enable you to access restricted areas of our website or other content or services, you must ensure that that user ID and password is kept confidential. You accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your user ID or password. Members are respectfully reminded that the discounted services secured for you as part of your BAPN membership are for members only. Should you share the discount codes with non-members you will be automatically in breach of membership conditions and your BAPN membership will be cancelled immediately. No refund of subscription will be paid in these circumstances.
Personal representation is granted in accordance with these terms and conditions.
Representation is provided by trained fully insured caseworkers
Personal representation cannot be provided:
to members who are in arrears with their subscription
Members who pay by monthly direct debit who have been in membership less than 6 months
Members employed unlawfully (not paying Income Tax or National Insurance or those not legally entitled to work in the UK)
Members working outside the UK.
BAPN does not provide dual representation.
Personal representation is granted at the discretion of BAPN and we reserve the right to withdraw representation at any time if the member is in breach of our terms and conditions or, becomes rude or abusive before or during our support.
The member has a right to seek a review of our decision and should do so by writing to the Managing Director, BAPN, at the address below.
Members seeking personal representation must supply BAPN with all the information relevant to the case. It is essential that we are provided with a full and honest appraisal of the situation so that we can determine the best course of action.
Student membership is only available to those in full-time study and subject to verification. Failure to provide the additional information required will mean that we will be unable to accept your membership application.
BAPN Affiliate membership is available to nannies working overseas. However, personal representation is not included in their membership package.
Should a member’s employment issue require legal opinion or assistance, for example, consideration as to whether an employment tribunal claim can be pursued, BAPN will advise member accordingly. BAPN retains the services of expert lawyers and can refer members. However, members can if they wish, appoint their own solicitor at their own expense. Should member wish to instruct BAPN's Legal Partner, BAPN, on member's instructions, will hand over all work carried out by BAPN to that point. Should the member decide to instruct a solicitor to take their case forward this will be done at the member's expense.
All information provided by the member is processed in compliance with BAPN's Data Protection Policy.

Sector Partners & Corporate Members
BAPN works with a number of external partners who provide members with preferential products and services. We carefully select partner organisations but please note, acceptance of partnership products and services does not constitute endorsement of the sector partners, their terms of business or their products and services.
Overseas members wishing to access offers, products and services made available to BAPN members by third party providers, must check with the third party provider that their offers apply in the nanny’s country of residence.
