Savernake Nannies set up in March 2017 and, like all new businesses, we were eager to keep our knowledge up to date with what was going on in the Nanny world. As an agency we are keen to support both the nannies and the employers and offer approx. 3 CPD workshops a year as well as Facebook support groups designated to 1) nannies 2) families in the local area.
We had a few Associations on our radar and after a lot of thought, decided to join BAPN in June 2019. Savernake Nannies were seeking an Association that we felt would support not only our needs as a conscientious nanny agency, but also the needs of the nannies and families we work with.
Price also played a big factor. As a small agency we cannot afford large annual subscriptions and feel BAPN has priced its services well for the market of independent agencies.
Our owner, Debbie has been following BAPN on social media since we were formed and believed their ethos on nannying matched ours:
To gain recognition for the nanny profession
Provide trustworthy guidance, support and advice for nannies
Offer workshops to help support nannies throughout their career
Provide nannies with access to relevant discounts – Savernake Nannies is currently building up our offers with local businesses
Organise local events for nannies. We regularly host a nanny coffee and chat morning for local nannies, and these are always well received.
Debbie first met Tricia from BAPN when she came to Wiltshire to host a Nanny workshop. Debbie said “I felt like she had the same passion for the nanny industry as me and I have regularly been in touch with her since for confidential advice on a variety of issues. I recommend BAPN to our nannies too.” There is only so much advice a Nanny agency can legally give and therefore we always signpost our nannies to BAPN whenever they have any queries or nanny/employer issues that we can’t answer. At Savernake Nannies we want to be known as the ‘go to agency’ in our local area for not only providing top quality nannies but one that actually cares about their nannies and families.
BAPN recently supported us with our annual review and update of our policies, ensuring compliance and considering queries which have arisen through nanny/employer queries.
It’s our opinion that BAPN is the go to Membership Association as the advice and support you receive from them is far more reliable than a search engine website where, as is our experience, advice given is often conflicting and not necessarily legally accurate.
BAPN responds to queries / questions promptly and the advice received has always been so helpful.
We have no hesitation in recommending all independent nanny agencies join BAPN as we don’t have the back up of a legal team, support group or training.
